Help someone become a Scholar of Islam
Knowledge is of paramount importance in nearly every aspect of human life and society. It plays a central role in personal development, societal progress, and the advancement of civilizations. Islamic Knowledge is even more important because it guides Muslims in every aspect of their life. There is a need of scholars (people of religious knowledge) who can guide the ones without it.
Dignity and eminence of the people of knowledge has been mentioned in the following manner
یَرْفَعِ اللّٰهُ الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا مِنْكُمْۙ-وَ الَّذِیْنَ اُوْتُوا الْعِلْمَ دَرَجٰتٍؕ
Translation from Kanz-ul-Iman: Allah will raise the ranks of the (excellent) believers amongst you and those who have been given knowledge.
(Part 28, Surah Mujadalah, Ayah 11)
Sayyiduna Ibn-e-‘Abbas رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ تَعَالٰی عَـنْهُما has stated: ‘The blessed scholars will be 700 times higher in rank than the ordinary believers. There is a distance of 500 years in between every two ranks.’
(Qoot-ul-Quloob, vol. 1, pp. 241)
To develop scholars, Dawateislami has established a department name Jamia-tul-Madinah
Jamia-tul-Madinah is the Muslim seminary system established by Dawat-e-Islami. Some term it as an Islamic University. Jamia-tul-Madinah teaches the traditional Islamic sciences known as Dars-e-Nizami – this course spans over six several years in which students are taught in-depth knowledge of Quran, Hadith, Usool-e-Hadith, Aqeedah, Fiqh, Usool-e-Fiqh, Sarf, Nahw, Arabic Literature, Balaghah, Islamic history and much more.
Ameer of AhleSunnah, Sheikh Ilyas Attar Qadiri’s affinity towards religious knowledge and passion to promote scholarly learning resulted in the establishment of the first branch of “Jamia-tul-Madinah” in Karachi, Paksitan.
Now hundreds of branches of Jamia-tul-Madinah are established around the world and thousands of students (boys and girls) are illuminating their hearts with the sacred knowledge and studying to become ordained Islamic scholars.
In the USA, using the similar ideology, DawateislamiUSA has established the department of Jamia tul Madinah. There are two branches of Jamia-tul-Madinah in the USA. First branch of Jamia-tul-Madinah was established in 2018 in Sugar Land, Texas. The second branch of Jamia-tul-Madinah is established in Baltimore Maryland.
By the Mercy of Allah, Jamia-tul-Madinah USA provides a six-year Dars e Nizami course free pf cost. This is an Aalim course in which students study under qualified teachers and instructors, to become ordained Scholars of Islam.
Students, who enroll in the program, do not need any prior education of Islamic sciences. Jamia-tul-Madinah provides some extra courses before the first year in which the students are taught basic knowledge about Islam. These courses vary based on the level of individual’s Islamic knowledge and can range from six months to two years. After finishing the basics the students qualify to enroll in the five-year program.
In the five-year program, students are given an opportunity to learn many Islamic sciences such as the exegeses of the Quran and the principles behind the interpretation of the Holy Book (Usool-e-Tafseer), Hadith Literature and the principle of interpretation of Hadith text (Usool-e-Hadith), Arabic Literature, Arabic Grammar, Arabic Morphology, Arabic Rhetoric, Islamic Theology, Classical Philosophy, and Classical Logic etc. The students learn these various sciences so they are well-rounded scholars and serve Allah and the religion of Islam.
Learning the translation of the Quran from an English book is something many people do, but in the Alim course, the students are taught the meanings behind these verses. Most of the books are in Arabic allowing students to better understand the language, and use those skills in the future.
Students are also taught worldly sciences. After completing the Aalim program, the students should also have the knowledge to work in different fields while staying within the limits of Islam. Students graduating from the program will receive a Bachelor of Art degree in Islamic Studies.
